Raile Gelbvieh is
located in the extreme northwest corner of Kansas, northwest of St.
Francis just off Highway 27. We have a family operation of primarily dryland
wheat and registered Gelbvieh cattle.
In 1983 we purchased our first Gelbvieh bull to use on our herd of
predominantly Charolais cross cows. The decision to use Gelbvieh was made after
reviewing the information coming out of the Meat Animal Research Center in
Nebraska. Then, in 1987 we started to register our first animals, and today all
of our cows are registered.
Located in a harsh environment such as we are in, the Gelbvieh cattle have
proved that they can compete with any breed. We strive to breed for the
economically important traits that satisfy our needs as well as our customers.
We sell some of our breeding cattle in a few select sales and
have a bull sale every March.
